Change for Change!

At one point or another, we all want change in our lives. Whether it was buying that cute dress you saw, or trying to do better in school, we always have want some parts of our lives to be different. Some spiritual teachings suggest that desire is an unhealthy part of the human experience, and that detachment from external changes in our lives is the best way to go. And while I think that's theoretically a reasonable idea, it sure doesn't fit the human experience.
However, wanting change or creating change are two very different things. I think often people get comfortable waiting for that perfect day, or that inspirational person to create the change in their lives when all they need to do is simply start doing it themselves. So if you want to go to the gym, don't wait until you're "ready," to start going to the gym, simply really push yourself to go, and eventually, it will be natural. It's simply science: energy in, energy out. We can't expect our lives to change or get better if we don't invest in them ourselves. So essentially, you need to change for change.
